Audit carried out on
Statement published on
uxr.cl is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. This page describes what was reviewed, when, and with what limits: what is not met or could not be verified is under “Known limitations”.
Status
On September 18, 2026 we audited the site against WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every level A and AA finding from that audit was fixed and verified.
The scope of that audit was the whole site, in Spanish and in English: 657 pages built at the time of the audit.
What was reviewed and how
- Static analysis of the built HTML of every page.
- Runtime measurement on 16 representative pages: real contrast composited layer by layer, font sizes, reflow at 320 px, text spacing and touch target size.
- Reading the code of the styles, the interface components and the routes with interaction.
Some checks run on every release of the site: the contrast of the palette's color pairs, that every navigation region has a name, that each page has a single main content area, and that the skip link points at a target that exists.
What the audit fixed
- Visible focus ring on dark surfaces, such as the footer.
- A skip link to the main content and a single main content area per page.
- The “Learn” menu works with a keyboard.
- Home page FAQ: the expanded or collapsed state matches what is shown, and answers are no longer clipped.
- Course quiz results no longer depend on color alone: they carry an icon and a word.
- Status regions for the results and errors of the calculators, the selectors and the glossary.
- Autocomplete attributes on the forms that ask for personal data.
- A name for each navigation region, in the language of the page.
- The calculator's highlighted-field animation stops by itself and respects the reduce-motion preference.
Known limitations
- The site was not tested with a real screen reader (VoiceOver or NVDA). Everything above is code analysis and measurement of the rendered HTML: reading order and effective verbosity are not confirmed. This test is pending.
- The full tab order was not walked page by page (criterion 2.4.3 Focus Order, level A). We verified that controls can be operated with a keyboard, not the sequence in which they are reached.
- The English pages were audited for structure, not for content.
- Runtime measurements were taken on the development server, not on the built version of the site. For contrast, typography and reflow they are equivalent, because the CSS is the same.
- The audit describes the site as it was on September 18, 2026. There is no later documented audit.
- Text size. The site has a rule of its own of at least 14 px text on mobile and 16 px on desktop, which is not met on every page, mostly on the tool pages. WCAG 2.1 sets no minimum text size: it matches no criterion or conformance level. It affects reading with tired eyes or low vision.
- Touch target size. The site has a rule of its own of 44 px targets that is not met on every page. The audit records WCAG 2.2 criterion 2.5.8 Target Size (Minimum), level AA (24 px), as met. The rule of its own affects tapping precision on mobile. This limitation and the previous one are documented as pending.
- On the timeline map, the milestone points are about 8 px. The same function is available in the chronological list and in the decade index, which have normal-sized targets: the audit treats this as covered by the equivalent-control exception of WCAG 2.2 criterion 2.5.8, level AA.
Technologies
The site uses HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA.
